PROJECT OVERVIEW: SAFE TOUCH KEYRING
Navigate the world without touching infected surfaces and screens.

THE BENEFIT OF 3D PRINTING
For any of us but particularly the elderly and those with compromised immune systems, navigating the world is difficult right now. To free people from constant worry of touching contaminated surfaces, we created this pocket-sized keyring with a variety of shapes and angles for use on multiple doorhandle designs plus a flat front for pushing on surfaces.
DUAL MATERIAL MEANS MULTIPURPOSE
The flat front works on typical touchscreens but not all of them. Capacitive touchscreens rely on the tiny electrical charge in our bodies to detect our touch. We had never printed with a conductive material, but some boundaries are there to be broken. To make the keyring applicable for every situation, we incorporated conductive TPU, to let users transfer their charge through the keyring to use smartphones, tablets and displays.

GRIP FOR ALL OCCASIONS
2020 means smooth, stainless steel doorhandles and push plates have a layer of handwash gel and hand sanitiser on them, creating slippery surfaces. To guarantee users with impairments can apply enough force to open heavy doors, we added a rough texture to the front of the conductive TPU and the inside of the keyring’s circular doorhandle shape. Resistance in the material equals a better grip, allowing a greater pull or push force to be applied.
